Wormbete Simmentals Reserve Champion 2015 RASV Heifer Challenge

The Heifer Challenge is part of Beef Week and provides a unique opportunity for seedstock producers to showcase their herd replacement females in an interbreed competition.

In 2015, 47 studs from across Victoria and southern NSW entered the challenge, representing 11 breeds of cattle, including Angus, Hereford, Simmental, Limousin, Charolais and Shorthorn. Each pen of 10 heifers was independently assessed by respected cattle judge, Jack Woodburn over the 9 Day Beef Week event.

At a showcase dinner in Bendigo last Friday night, Wormbete Simmentals was again delighted to be announced as one of 12 selected finalists and then was thrilled to be awarded Reserve Champion of this prestigious challenge.

The contemporaries of the these award winning heifers are on offer at our on property sale on Friday 6 March 2015 and provide the astute breeder with a great opportunity to purchase Wormbete genetics that have been judged to stand with the best.

Wormbete Simmentals would like to sincerely congratulate the overall Champion, Connamara Angus from Ruffy in Victoria on their success.
